"A beautiful night for a launch…"

After a rainy day on the Space Coast, things are looking beautiful right now. If you look carefully at the picture to the left – to the left of the flags and the countdown clock – that’s Pad 39A with Atlantis pointing skyward.

This will be my fourth launch here at KSC, and let me tell you, it’s always incredible, always different.

The Shuttle Training Aircraft just took off to monitor weather. The overseas alternative landing sites are in the clear.

We’re now in the 10 minute hold at T-20.
