iPhones in Space: STF Episode 10

“Roger, Houston. I have deployed the iPhone.
Now if I could just get it activated.”

Space Task Force Episode 10

Tim is back in studio to talk about his recent space adventures.

We also have a special guest from NASA’s Ames Research Center to talk about the role you can play in the NASA CoLab website.
My big question this week is – what if they’d had an iPhone during Project Apollo? Would we already be on Mars?
That and a Shuttle Launch Experience on this week’s SpaceTaskForce.

(as far as I know, NASA doesn’t endorse the iPhone, so apologies about the photo above…but still – it makes you wonder…)

ISDC: Ken Davidian: NASA Centennial Challenges

We talked with a lot of great people in Dallas, and one of those was Ken Davidian. In this interview he talks about the NASA Centennial Challenges for 2006, what’s to come – and some great things to expect at the 2007 Wirefly X PRIZE Cup.

Here’s that interview: Space Task Force Episode 6.1 Ken Davidian

Thunderbirds fly over KSC

Congratulations to our sponsor the World Space Expo at the Kennedy Space Center! The USAF Thunderbirds flew over the Vehicle Assembly Building (“VAB”) on Monday. Hundreds of workers at KSC came out to watch the planes do a series of passes over the main industrial area where the Space Shuttle is maintained and prepared for launches. This flyover comes almost exactly 6 months before the start of the World Space Expo and the highlight show, an Aerial Salute to NASA with the Thunderbirds as the headlining act.
