The sun rose twice at the Kennedy Space Center this June 8, as Space Shuttle Atlantis began its mission to the International Space Station. Atlantis took off right on time into a clear beautiful sky, with a flame so bright it was hard to look at.
I was down by the countdown clock and flag. Picture perfect. Wow. Thanks to National Geographic’s Susan Poulton for this great shot.
